Student Testimonies

Tawana (Grade 7 2024)

I love being at the Vine School because there are quite a few practical subjects which I really enjoy. Art, Handwork and Picture Study are my favourite subjects and they allow me to express my artistic skills. I also love being at the Vine School because I have made really good friends and everyone treats each other like family. Assemblies are my favourite time of the day as we get to sing and pray together!

Inez (Grade 7 2025)

What I love about our school is that we get to have fun with our friends and that whenever we go to a new class we have sweet teachers. Our teachers are kind whenever they teach us and it is a very interesting thing that we learn about every day. We get to do PT and it is very fun

Mila (Grade 5 2025)

I love playing with my friends and that we laugh and I miss them. I like my teacher, because she always gives me hugs and smiles

Alumni Testimonies and where they are now

Sadie Ronne (Grade 7 2023)

My schooling at The Vine is a time in my life that I will remember forever. One thing that will always stay with me is our Grade 7 leavers dinner. I remember that the girls in my class and I talked about going to the dinner since we were in Grade 4. We mostly talked about what we were going to wear and how we planned on doing our hair, but despite that excitement the thing that truly stayed with me was listening to each of my classmate's speeches. It was just so special to hear how far we had all come in our journey at The Vine! It was the perfect way to bring our journey at The Vine to a close.

Something else that I will always remember at The Vine is the relationships that I was able to build with the teachers. There is a special bond with the teachers at The Vine which I will always remember and will never take for granted.

Something that has helped me transition into high school is the strong work ethic that The Vine helped me to develop, as well as the teaching technique of telling back. This has helped me to deal with the heavy work load in high school. I also learned how to work hard and try my best in each task given to us. Lastly, something that The Vine has taught me, is something simple, yet makes a big difference. Greeting people. At the Vine greeting people is something that was expected and taught to us at a young age. And now in high school I simply enjoy greeting people with a smile and I know that it is greatly appreciated by teachers and everyone you come across.

Demi (Grade 7 2020)

The Vine school taught me to encourage people when they are feeling down and to love your neighbour as you love yourself. The teachers were very caring and understanding but if you were naughty they could be a bit strict. Our school was not like any other school, which was a good thing because The Vine School taught us that God says that we must not be like the world. The Vine School is all about character and who you are as a person. We learned about God’s word and that’s why I still love The Vine School.

Rorisang (Grade 7 2020)

The Vine school taught me to be a better student with understanding and resilience. When I came to school I felt ready to learn and be challenged. It was also a safe environment to speak about anything. The teachers were always friendly and ready to help anyone in need.

Kuda Nduku (Grade 7 2017)

Kuda Nduku, a former Grade 7 student at The Vine School in 2017, visited us before starting his studies at Wayne State College in Nebraska, USA in August 2024. He aims to become a Chartered Accountant.

Kuda started at The Vine School in Grade 3 with little foundation in literacy and mathematics. Within a few years he had caught up with his classmates and went on to become the top maths student in his high school. Kuda appreciates the school's impact on his language skills, fondly recalling poetry, music appreciation lessons, and the effective teaching methods that aided his learning. He also enjoyed playing Thisbe in Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream.
