#100/1000 Fund

Start Date: January 1, 2020
End Date: December 31, 2021

Although the coronavirus “hard” lockdown has ended and many people are back at work, not all are earning what they earned before.  Some parents do not have a job to return to and others will take many months to recover from their extended loss of income.  We do not want any family at The Vine School to leave only because they are unable to pay their school fees.  Following a careful vetting process, all families who need assistance have been granted a temporary reduction of fees until they have recovered financially.  All staff have already taken salary cuts to help keep our children in school but we need to raise R100 000 per month to cover the cost of fee assistance to all qualifying families at The Vine School.

Please consider supporting us by donating R100 per month for at least the next 12 months. If 1 000 people make this commitment we will reach our goal.  If you want to donate a lesser or greater amount, we will be grateful for whatever you are able to give.

Benevolent Fund

Start Date: January 1, 2020
End Date: December 31, 2020

The Benevolent Fund was established to purchase essential items which a family cannot afford.  Typically disbursements are for items like school uniform or stationery. Occasionally funds are allocated to pay towards a costly assessment (e.g. by an educational psychologist or occupational therapist) if a family cannot afford it.  When the school was closed because of the COVID-19 lockdown, we supported many families by providing data for online lessons, as well as grocery and electricity vouchers.  On return to school, we also provided essentials such as face masks to those who could not afford them.

Building fund

Start Date: January 1, 2020
End Date: December 31, 2021

Although the school does not own the site where it is situated, it has invested extensively in repairs and improvements.  The property belongs to the Anglican Church, and we are happy for our landlords to benefit from these upgrades,  as we are ultimately one body in Christ.  The school has security of tenure for 25 years, so any improvement to the site is of long-term value to the school.  Plans include additional classroom space, extension of the school hall, and improvements to parking and traffic control.  The addition of a dedicated ECD campus through the purchase of a neighbouring property is another major project.
