The wonder of Beetles
The Grade 1's and 2's have enjoyed learning to draw beetles in the first term. They learned that the key to drawing an interesting beetle easily is to take note of the segmented legs and body that a beetle has. One or two of our little ones were a little tearful as they felt afraid of the beetle pictures at first. This attitude soon changed as they marvelled at the variety of colours and shapes of these amazing little creatures. They frequently came back from time outdoors, sharing what sorts of beetles they had discovered for themselves, describing the colours, patterns, and shapes that they had observed.
