Both songs are about trains. Freedom train is actually a very useful vocal warm-up and was the first thing the choir learned as it's sung in unison.
Freedom Train was was originally a slave song and Shosholoza, which means push forward, is a song about the trains taking men to work on the mines.
The sound sho sho is reminiscent of the sound made by a steam train and links in well with the movements made by the choir.
