Wednesday 24 May was a really special day. We were blessed to host and honour about 140 of our Foundation Phase pupils' grandparents. Our guests first spent time in their grandchildren's classrooms observing the Ambleside teaching method in action and had a taste of what our teachers expose our pupils to in the classroom each day. They then enjoyed some refreshments in the hall, listened to their grandchildren recite poetry and scripture and we ended off the morning with an inspiring and encouraging talk by Sarah Warton, a founder of John Wycliffe Christian School from which The Vine School was born.
A big THANK YOU goes out to:
- Mel Da Silva Gouveia and our PVA team as well as our Receptionist, Raquel Meyer, for putting the event together and for contributing to the tremendous success the morning turned out to be;
- our parents who so generously contributed to the spread of eats the grandparents enjoyed;
- our Grade 7 pupils who ably took on the responsibilities of setting up the hall, ushering our guests to the various classrooms, washing and drying dishes and packing away tables and chairs after the event.
